The Oklahoma Central Area Bible Bowl was attended by seven pathfinder clubs. Enid, Edmond, Mid West City, Oklahoma City Central, Oklahoma City Southern Hills, Shawnee and Stillwater. Our judges were the South Area Coordinator - Rex Shepherd and his wife, Norma Shepherd and the East Area Coordinator - Apple Park.
All the clubs were prepared. Questions were read by the Central Area Coordinator - John Flores along with Kevin Costello, and Club Directors and Deputy Directors - Dave Burrows, Opal Caleb, Karen Gilman, Carol King, and Cathey Cowden. Carlene Vigneron was our official timer.
Five area clubs advanced to the Conference Bible Bowl which will be held on 27 Feb.
After the Bible bowl we had a group mixer, in which we found out who likes what!
Sabbath evening each club participated in vespers which included several skits, a special song, and a wonderful puppet show.
After sundown, the Kuiakos nature center presented a nature show. Mike and Judy Kane started the Kuriakos nature center to provide an environment where the natural world can be viewed from a Biblical perspective. Kuriakos is Greek for "belonging to the Lord".
Following the neat nature presentation, a rainstorm caused us to delay the flashlight hike and
instead we played some rowdy games. Shoes were tossed toward a target, and afterwards, each team tried to find their shoes. Who can ever forget the tussling and pulling and teams gathered their friends to avoid elimination in the Groups game.
Sunday morning found us all working together. All pathfinders were divided up into three teams, with the goal of building the tallest balloon tower. Each team was given an equal amount of balloons and tape. Then they were given 5 minutes to come up with a plan, then 30 minutes to execute their plan. Some teams immediately sprang into action, blowing up their balloons, others began tying their balloons as soon as they were blown up. Soon teams of pathfinders regardless of club or age, began assembling their towers.

Each team was a winner in the fact that they each developed their own distinctive style of balloon towers. Our other team building activity include moving teams from one side of a "spider web to the next. After the teams accomplished that, they then move everyone over the top of the rope!

Our last activity was one which both staff and pathfinders participated in.. Marshmellow war!!All of our activities were meant to encourage participation and teamwork….but why did the pathfinders enjoy the last activity (pathfinders vs staff marshmellow war) so much!!!
